JAGUAR I-PACE Incident

On January [XXX], 2026 at 9:03 AM MT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in Phoenix, Arizona was in a collision involving a heavy truck in a parking lot at [XXX]. The Waymo AV was traveling southbound in a parking lot at [XXX] when it slowed to a stop with its hazard lights activated to yield to a heavy truck to the left of the Waymo AV that was facing south. While the Waymo AV remained stopped alongside the heavy truck, the heavy truck began executing a reversing turn into a loading dock parking stall at the east side of the parking lot. The Waymo AV reversed momentarily adjacent to the heavy truck as the heavy truck continued to reverse, and the rear right side of the heavy truck cab made contact with the rear left side of the stationary Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The Waymo AV sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
