JLR I-PACE Incident

On December [XXX], 2024 at 4:16 PM PT a Waymo Autonomous Vehicle ("Waymo AV") operating in San Francisco, California was in a collision involving a passenger car on [XXX] at [XXX]. The Waymo AV was stopped facing northeast on [XXX] at the intersection with [XXX] waiting for a queue of traffic to clear the intersection before proceeding to turn left onto northwestbound [XXX]. The Waymo AV began to proceed, but as it did so, a passenger car directly behind the Waymo AV attempted to pass the left side of the Waymo AV. The passenger car's right side then made contact with the left side of the Waymo AV. At the time of the impact, the Waymo AV's Level 4 ADS was engaged in autonomous mode. The passenger car sustained damage. Waymo is reporting this crash under Request No. 2 of Standing General Order 2021-01. Waymo may supplement or correct its reporting with additional information as it may become available.
