Ford F-150 Incident

The Latitude development vehicle (subject vehicle) was traveling southbound on [XXX] in the leftmost lane with ADAS active at 13:10 EST on June [XXX], 2024. As the subject vehicle was approaching mile marker [XXX], it began to decelerate due to traffic moving slower ahead. The Vehicle Operator transitioned the subject vehicle to manual operation and continued to decelerate. A trailing SUV made contact with the driver's side rear of the subject vehicle. At the time of impact, the subject vehicle was traveling at approximately 7mph, the trailing vehicle was traveling at approximately 34 mph, and the lead vehicle (not involved in the incident) was traveling at approximately 2 mph. Roadway Description, see Narrative: [XXX] has the two right lanes closed, with merging of the rightmost lane beginning approximately 0.2 miles South of the entrance ramp to Ford Road and the center lane merge starting approximately 0.2 mile after. The slowing traffic referenced in the Narrative was due to the upcoming lane merges.
