Narrative

The driver originally alleged that the F-150 was at a complete stop and remained in that position for approximately 10 minutes before accelerating and colliding with a vehicle. Ford Motor Company has now received notice through the driver's insurance company, that the driver claims that BlueCruise and One-Pedal driving were engaged at the time of the crash. BlueCruise can only be engaged and operate within designated BlueCruise Zones, and the location of the accident was more than 7 miles away from the nearest BlueCruise Operating Design Domain (ODD). In addition, One-Pedal drive is unavailable when cruise control, adaptive cruise control, or adaptive cruise control with stop and go is active. Ford also conducted an EDR download, which indicates there was 100% accelerator pedal application and no brake application before impact. Ford has confirmed that the vehicle was equipped with ADAS Level 2 and BlueCruise. There are no reported injuries, and the insurer indicated it was closing the claim and accepting liability. Ford now understands that the F-150 was towed from the scene after the crash.
