Narrative
On August [XXX], 2025, a 2025 GMC Yukon XL was traveling west on [XXX] in Thoreau, New Mexico with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicates a frontal impact resulting in deployment of the front airbags and seat belt pretensioners. Crash data also indicates that the driver seat belt was buckled prior to the crash. According to OnStar recordings, the driver reported his vehicle struck an elk that crossed in front of the vehicle. Telematics data also shows that approximately 1 second prior to the crash, Super Cruise entered a "Disabled/Not Ready" state due to a brake pedal press.
