GMC Yukon XL Incident

On September [XXX], 2025, a 2025 GMC Yukon XL was travelling eastbound on [XXX] in Kellogg, Iowa, with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicates there was a frontal impact that deployed the front seat belt pretensioners and airbags. The driver was wearing their seat belt at the time of crash. Telematics data indicates Super Cruise changed to an "Override" state 5 seconds prior to the crash due to steering torque (driver take over). At the time of the crash, the system was in a "Disabled/Not Ready" state. According to an OnStar transcript, the driver stated that they turned their head toward the back seat momentarily, and upon returning their attention to the road, observed that the vehicle was heading toward the highway median.
