Narrative
On October [XXX], 2025, a 2023 GMC Sierra was travelling eastbound on [XXX] in Saint Helena Island, South Carolina, with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicated a frontal impact occurred that deployed the front seat belt pretensioners and driver airbag. The driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. According to OnStar recordings, the driver reported the other vehicle pulled out in front of him. Telematics data indicates the system changed to "Degraded Escalation" 1.2 seconds prior to the crash due to driver braking and steering input.
