GMC Sierra Incident

On November [XXX], 2025, a 2024 GMC Sierra was travelling northbound on [XXX] East in Greenwood, Nebraska, with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicated a frontal impact occurred that deployed the front seat belt pretensioners and driver airbag. The driver was wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash. According to OnStar recordings, the driver reported hitting the back of a semi-truck. Super Cruise changed to a Degraded Escalation state 15 seconds prior to the crash due to system detection of a distracted driver. At 13 seconds prior to the crash, Super Cruise changed to a Disabled/Not Ready state due to the driver taking control of the vehicle. At 9 seconds prior to the crash, Super Cruise went to an Enabled (but not active) state.
