Narrative
On December [XXX], 2025, a 2025 GMC Sierra was travelling northbound on [XXX] in Macon, Georgia with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicates there was a frontal impact that deployed the front seat belt pretensioners and airbags. The driver and front passenger were wearing their seat belt at the time of crash. A review of the OnStar audio recordings indicated no response from the occupants.
Update: On December 31, 2025, GM received the police report along with updated vehicle crash and telemetry data. The police report indicates that the vehicle was traveling eastbound on [XXX] in an active construction zone. The driver reported that while traveling on the interstate and attempting to make a lane change, the vehicle intervened to correct the maneuver, resulting in contact with the barrier for the right-lane closure. Vehicle telemetry data indicates that Super Cruise transitioned to "Disabled/Not Ready" 3 seconds prior to the crash due to a driver brake application.
