CHEVROLET Silverado Incident

On January [XXX], 2026, a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling southbound on [XXX] in Euless, Texas, with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicated two frontal impacts that deployed the seat belt pretensioners and airbags. The driver was not wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash. According to OnStar audio recordings, the driver reached down to retrieve a dropped item inside the vehicle, during which the driver's leg contacted and rotated the steering wheel, resulting in a loss of control and subsequent impact with a highway barrier. According to telematics data, Super Cruise entered a "Disabled/Not Ready" state 16 seconds prior to crash due to the driver taking steering control.
