CHEVROLET Silverado Incident

On March [XXX], 2026, a 2024 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling eastbound on [XXX] in Seaside, Oregon, with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicated a frontal impact that resulted in deployment of the driver front airbag and front seat belt pretensioners. The driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. Review of the OnStar audio recording indicates that the driver alleged departing the highway into a ditch after swerving to avoid a deer. Telematics data shows that Super Cruise changed state to Disabled/Not Ready at the time of the crash due driver take over with steering control and brake press.
