GMC Sierra Incident

On December [XXX], 2023, a 2024 GMC Sierra was travelling south on [XXX] in Clarkesville, Tennessee with Super Cruise engaged and active. According to OnStar audio recordings, the driver states the driver of the vehicle in front of him "slammed" on the brakes, causing the subject vehicle to collide with it. Crash data indicates there was a second impact into the rear of the subject vehicle, Crash data also indicates the driver's airbag and seat belt pretensioner deployed. The driver was wearing their seatbelt. According to telematics data, Super Cruise entered a Disabled/Not Ready state approximately 3 seconds prior to the crash due to a brake press.
