On May [XXX], 2024, at 3:18a.m. EST, the subject vehicle was traveling with Rivians Level 2 ADAS feature, Highway Assist (HWA), engaged. The driver turned the steering wheel at a rate (deg/s) that exceeded the driver takeover request threshold of HWA, which disengaged the steering assistance and returned steering control to the driver. The vehicle continued on under control of the driver and impacted a lane divider, resulting in minor, cosmetic damage to the driver side front and rear doors. The driver mentioned that they were on the phone during the incident.
