Ford Escape Incident

10-Day Update on Report 502-8946-1: Ford has received the police report and updated the information regarding the incident scene coordinates, speed limit, and confirmation that the driver and passenger of the Escape did not sustain any injuries during the crash. No additional information has been received that materially differs from the details previously reported about this incident. On October [XXX], 2024, the driver of the Escape claims they were traveling east on [XXX] when they struck a deer while Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Lane Centering Assist (LCA) were engaged. Based on the initial information reported, there were no injuries, the airbags deployed, and the vehicle was towed from the scene. On October 25, 2024, Ford learned that a passenger sought urgent care on October [XXX], 2024, two days after the accident, for moderate injuries to the back and neck, having been diagnosed with whiplash and a slight concussion. Ford is currently investigating the incident and has confirmed that the vehicle was equipped with ADAS Level 2 features, including ACC and LCA.
