HONDA HR-V Incident

Honda Customer Service received a crash report from the customer on February [XXX], 2026. The customer reported that she was driving on February [XXX] , 2026, at 1:20AM with the Adaptive Cruise Control and Lane Keep Assist systems in use. She stated that she left a convenience store on a main road and made a right turn, then traveled approximately 300 feet at 25 mph. The customer alleged that the vehicle suddenly veered to the left, then impacted a tree and rolled over twice. The vehicle's airbags deployed and the vehicle was towed from the crash scene. The customer sustained minor injuries during the incident. The customer reported the roadway had visible lane lines; however, she was unable to recall several aspects of the incident, stating "everything happened so fast and she was in shock." The customer did not provide details about seat belt usage or weather conditions. UPDATE 4/13/26: Honda inspected the vehicle on April 1, 2026. We did not have access to the vehicle's key, so we downloaded the SRS data directly from the unit. There were two data impact events recorded. In the first recorded event, data reflects the vehicle's steering wheel indicated a right hand turn at 0 seconds. In the second recorded event, the data indicated one tap of the brake, and the steering wheel remained to the right. For both events, the Lane Keep Assist System was ON but not engaged, the Adaptive Cruise Control was ON and engaged and the Road Departure Mitigation system warning was ON. No vehicle defects were identified.
