HONDA CIVIC Incident

The customer reported an accident on 11/[XXX]/24 at 2:30 PM while traveling west on a straight, open, four-lane country road at 55-60 MPH with ACC and LKAS engaged. ACC had been controlling speed for 10-15 minutes, and LKAS activated 60-90 seconds before the crash. The customer briefly looked away, and the vehicle veered right without lane departure warnings or vibrations. Attempts to steer left were unsuccessful, crossing the white line, striking two signs, and entering a ditch. The vehicle sustained significant damage. EMTs responded, but no injuries occurred. A Field Technicians review of EDR and IDAS data for Report[XXX] suggests possible driver input, showing full throttle application from engaged ACC, potential loss of traction, and late steering correction. No system faults were found beyond dead battery-related DTCs. The customer requests a system review to determine why LKAS and ACC failed to prevent the incident. Insurance is assessing the vehicle for a total loss.
