Narrative
The information contained in this report is based solely on Nissan's understanding of the allegations received during Claimant's discussions with Nissan's Consumer Affairs representatives.
On [XXX], Claimant orally stated that the vehicle's air bags did not deploy in a front-end collision. Claimant reported she normally uses the cruise control to engage the brake, but that did not happen this time and she had to manually press the brake. As a result, the vehicle hit another vehicle in front and the air bag did not deploy from the impact. Claimant reports the vehicle was towed.
Nissan is attempting to coordinate the investigation with the customer.
On [XXX], claimant stated the vehicle was traveling at 5 to 10 miles per hour when the incident occurred. Claimant stated their vehicle "bumped into" an F-150. After the incident, the front passenger sought medical attention for whiplash. Claimant declined the initial request for an inspection.
On 2/29/2024, Claimants wife declined a 2nd offer of an inspection.
On 3/6/2024, Nissan closed the investigation and sent a "no chance to inspect" letter.
