Nissan Ariya Incident

The information contained in this report is based solely on Nissan's notification via telematics that a vehicle equipped with Pro Pilot Assist 2.0 was involved in an incident involving an air bag deployment. The system was not active at the time of the incident, but had been active within the 30 seconds prior to the incident. Preliminary data indicates the vehicle was not on a limited access roadway. The time of the incident was 01:05 UTC (7:05 am Mountain Standard Time). 4/15/2024 Correction: Time of incident was 6:05pm. Nissan is currently examining its ability to provide additional details that may be protected by consumer privacy laws. Nissan is gathering additional information and will supplement with the monthly report. Nissan has not been contacted regarding this incident. 4/15/2024 Update: Nissan's preliminary assessment and 5-day report indicated the vehicle was not on a limited access roadway and that the PPA 2.0 system was not active at the time of the incident, but had been active within 30 seconds of the incident. As of April 15th, Nissan has not been contacted regarding this incident. Upon further review of the telematics data however, Nissan has determined that it misinterpreted the status of the PPA 2.0 system when filing its 5-day report. ProPilot Assist 2.0 was not active within 30 seconds of the incident it was in standby within 30 seconds of the incident.
