Toyota Camry Incident

Entries in this report are based on unconfirmed allegations: On May [XXX], 2025, Toyota received an initial contact from the owner and driver of a vehicle involved in the crash. The owner described that cruise control was engaged leading up to the crash event, and alleged that while driving on a highway, the car's "lane assist" could not read the lane lines properly and pulled the vehicle. The owner tried to correct the vehicle by steering and braking, but the vehicle went off the road and collided with a bush that stopped the vehicle. The owner alleged the brakes did not work properly. As a result, the vehicle had 3 damaged tired and wheels, brake system damage, bumper damage, bottom cover damage, and scratches to the paint. The owner stated the crash occurred between 6:00-7:00AM. Additionally, the owner alleged that the previous day, the "cruise control did not function properly by having to jerk it as it was not recognizing hands were on the steering wheel."
