Lexus RX 450h Incident

Subject vehicle was on a testing mission in Emeryville, CA. The vehicle was traveling Westbound on [XXX] operated by the vehicle's Automated Driving System and supervised by a safety driver in the driver's designated seating position, and with a safety operator in the front passenger seating position. Subject vehicle decelerated and came to a complete stop in response to traffic. Approximately three seconds later, with traffic remaining stopped ahead, a white Chevrolet Silverado made contact from the rear. Almost simultaneous with the crash, the safety driver disengaged the Automated Driving System through brake pedal force. After the crash, both vehicles proceeded to the side of the road to exchange information, and then took the closest exit to a nearby parking lot. Subject vehicle was towed given damage to the rear window. No injuries were reported, and law enforcement was not called to the scene.
