HYUNDAI Ioniq 5 Incident

On April [XXX], 2026 at 8:01 AM, an AVRIDE autonomous vehicle (the "AVRIDE AV") was in a collision in Austin, TX on [XXX] near West [XXX]. The AVRIDE AV was traveling southbound on [XXX] in autonomous mode as it approached a traffic light at the intersection with West [XXX]. A passenger car was traveling behind the AVRIDE AV as it approached the traffic light. As the AVRIDE AV approached the traffic light, the light changed from green, to yellow to red. The AVRIDE AV slowed down and stopped accordingly at the red light. The passenger car behind the AVRIDE AV attempted to slow down and stop at the red light but hydroplaned due to the roads being wet at the time. This caused the front of the passenger car to make contact with the rear of AVRIDE AV. Both vehicles sustained damage. No injuries were reported.
