Ford Mach-E Incident

Update on Report 502-8738-1: Ford received the police report on November 11, 2024, which indicates that a fourth vehicle was involved and left the scene. The police report also notes that one passenger complained of back pain, but no medical attention was provided at the scene. Additionally, Ford has obtained the EDR data report from the vehicle and has updated the information concerning the pre-collision speed and the time of the incident. On September [XXX], 2024, the driver of the Mach-E reported that they were traveling east on [XXX] near [XXX] while using BlueCruise hands-free mode. An Audi travelling in front of the Mach-E stopped abruptly, prompting the Mach-E driver to take control and apply the brakes. The Mach-E impacted the rear of the Audi and the Audi subsequently struck a GMC vehicle that was directly in front of it. The airbags in the Audi deployed, and both the Mach-E and the Audi were towed from the scene. At this time, Ford's understanding is that there were no injuries involved. Ford has confirmed that the vehicle was equipped with ADAS Level 2 and BlueCruise.
