GM is submitting a third update to the initial report of this incident submitted on November 27, 2024. GM received a police report on April 21, 2025, that indicated one involved individual was transported by ambulance and that the other involved vehicle was a 2002 Mazda Tribute. The Colorado State Patrol is identified as the investigating agency and the investigator's name and badge number are provided. Fields are also updated to indicate the weather was clear and the roadway was dark and unlighted.
GM is submitting a second update to the initial report of this incident submitted on November 27, 2024. Pre-crash speed of the vehicle is corrected to 65 mph and vehicle contact area is revised to indicate only the front right corner.

Photos obtained from the incident confirm the subject vehicle could not be driven, thus the vehicle would have to be towed from the scene. Also, vehicle data was obtained, so EDR is added as one of the post-crash data sources. Incident time is corrected to the time zone local to the incident.
On November [XXX], 2024, a 2024 Cadillac Escalade was traveling south on [XXX], in Commerce City, Colorado with Super Cruise engaged and active. According to OnStar audio recordings, the driver indicated he was traveling in a construction zone and hit a stationary vehicle, with no lights activated. Crash data indicates a frontal impact that deployed the driver front airbag and front seat belt pretensioners. The driver was buckled at the time of the crash. Vehicle data shows that approximately 0.8 seconds prior to the crash, Super Cruise entered an Override state due to steering wheel torque and the driver's hands being detected on the steering wheel. At approximately 0.7 seconds before the crash, a Disabled/Not Ready state was recorded due to brake pedal application.
