Chevrolet Traverse Incident

On January [XXX], 2025, a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse was travelling west on [XXX], in Granville, Pennsylvania with Super Cruise engaged and active. According to the OnStar recording, the driver described hitting the left highway cement barrier. Crash data indicates a left side impact, followed by a right side impact with airbag and front seatbelt pretensioner deployments. The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of crash. According to telematics data, at approximately 6 seconds prior to the crash, Super Cruise entered a Degraded Escalation state due to the driver seatbelt being unbuckled. At approximately 4 seconds prior to crash, Super Cruise entered a Disabled/Not Ready state due to detection of hands on the steering wheel.
