Toyota Highlander Incident

A Zoox vehicle (Vehicle 1) operating in autonomous mode was stopped for a red traffic light on north-westbound [XXX], waiting to turn left onto [XXX] in San Francisco. After the light turned green, and before the Zoox vehicle started to move, it was rear ended by a passenger car (Vehicle 2) that was traveling directly behind. The Zoox vehicle operator then disengaged from autonomy, completed the left turn, and pulled over on [XXX] to exchange information. The Zoox vehicle sustained minor damage to the rear bumper. There were no reported injuries, and police were not called. The Zoox vehicle camera footage shows that the Vehicle 2 driver was not looking ahead at the roadway before or at the time of contact.
