Toyota Highlander Incident

A Zoox vehicle (Vehicle 1), operating in autonomous mode, was heading east on [XXX] toward [XXX] in San Francisco. It then encountered a van hauling a trailer (Vehicle 2) traveling west, partially occupying both the westbound and eastbound lanes on [XXX]. The Zoox vehicle slowed for the oncoming Vehicle 2 then its operator disengaged from autonomy and manually brought the vehicle to a complete stop. As Vehicle 2 passed, the driver's side of Vehicle 2 scraped the driver's side of the stopped Zoox vehicle. The driver of Vehicle 2 failed to stop and exchange information. The Zoox vehicle sustained minor damage, and no injuries were reported. Camera footage from the Zoox vehicle shows that the operator of Vehicle 2 steered toward it without appearing to attempt to avoid making contact. The police were later notified about the incident.
