HYUNDAI Ioniq 5 Incident

On March [XXX], 2026 at 8:08 AM, an AVRIDE autonomous vehicle (the "AVRIDE AV") was in a collision in Dallas, Texas at the intersection of [XXX] and [XXX]. The AVRIDE AV was heading southwestbound on [XXX] in autonomous mode when it stopped at a stop sign before planning to turn left onto [XXX]. While the AVRIDE AV was beginning to turn left, the AVRIDE AV noticed an SUV approaching from the left and hesitated. The safety operator decided to then take over in manual mode, stopping the AVRIDE AV and reversing it. Before the AVRIDE AV began to travel in reverse, a Jeep which was at the stop sign behind the AVRIDE AV also began to proceed into the intersection without stopping at the stop sign. This resulted in the back of the AVRIDE AV making contact with the front of the Jeep. After the collision, the Jeep fled from the scene without stopping to speak with anyone. The AVRIDE AV sustained damage. No injuries were reported.
