GMC Yukon Incident

On January [XXX], 2026, a 2024 GMC Yukon was travelling northbound on [XXX] near Ft Myers, Fl with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicates a frontal impact that resulted in deployment of the airbags and front seat belt pretensioners. The driver was wearing their seat belt at the time of the incident. According to OnStar audio recordings, the driver reported striking a lead vehicle in the rear when that vehicle was braking. System data indicates that Super Cruise was Engaged and Active at the time of the crash. Update: On March [XXX], 2026, GM reviewed the police report which indicated that the driver reported striking a lead vehicle in the rear when that vehicle was stopped in the lane after striking another vehicle. The police report also indicated that the driver of the subject vehicle was transported by EMS and that the crash partner was an SUV.
