CHEVROLET Traverse Incident

On January [XXX], 2026, a 2024 Chevrolet Traverse was travelling eastbound on Indiana [XXX] with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicates a frontal and rollover impact that resulted in deployment of the airbags and front seat belt pretensioners. The driver was wearing their seat belt at the time of the incident. According to OnStar audio recordings, the driver reported they hit the curb and the vehicle flipped. The driver reported that he and his 3-year old passenger were not injured. System data indicates that Super Cruise changed state to Disabled 4 seconds prior to the crash due to braking. Update: On February 11, 2026, GM received the police report, which states the driver reported encountering a patch of snow, losing control of the vehicle, leaving the roadway, and rolling over. The driver did not seek medical attention, but the passenger was seen by EMS. The vehicle was towed from the scene.
