CHEVROLET Blazer Incident

On March [XXX], 2026, a 2025 Chevrolet Blazer EV was traveling eastbound on [XXX] in Perrysburg, Ohio, with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicated a left impact occurred that deployed the front seat belt pretensioners and driver airbag. The driver was not wearing their seat belt at the time of the crash. Review of the OnStar audio recording indicates that the driver reports they were involved in a single-vehicle crash in a construction zone, in which the vehicle impacted the center highway barrier and subsequently came to rest on the opposite side of the roadway. System data shows that Super Cruise changed to Disabled/Not Ready 5 seconds prior to the incident. Per system design, this state change is due to the driver taking control of the vehicle due to a brake press or hand on the wheel.
