Cadillac LYRIQ Incident

GM is submitting an updated report to an initial report, 540-8333-1, submitted on August [XXX], 2024. The updates, based on a police report received on August 29, include the subject vehicle and vehicle struck were both towed, the MMY of the vehicle struck was identified as a 2022 Hyundai Palisade and it was raining. On August [XXX], 2024, a 2024 Cadillac Lyriq was travelling north on the [XXX] south of [XXX] in Port St Lucie, Florida with Super Cruise engaged and active. The subject vehicle struck a stopped 2022 Hyundai Palisade in the rear. Crash data indicates frontal airbags and seat belt pretensioners deployed. According to telematics data, approximately 7 seconds prior to crash, Super Cruise entered an Override state due to steering wheel torque input. At approximately 6 seconds prior to crash, Super Cruise entered a Disable/Not Ready state due to brake pedal input. Per the police report, the driver and passenger in the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq were both transported to a medical facility. The level of injury is unknown.
