CADILLAC Lyriq Incident

On December [XXX], 2025, a 2026 Cadillac Lyriq was travelling southbound on [XXX] in Clio, Michigan, with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicates there was a frontal impact that deployed the front seat belt pretensioners and airbags. The driver and front passenger were wearing their seat belt at the time of crash. A review of the OnStar audio recordings indicated that their vehicle hit another vehicle. Telematics data indicates that Super Cruise entered an "Enabled" state 6 seconds prior to the crash. Update: On March 25, 2026, GM received the police report, which indicates that the Cadillac Lyriq driver lost control of the vehicle, sideswiped the driver side of a GMC Acadia, and then struck the center median. The GMC Acadia subsequently left the roadway, entered a wooded area, and struck a tree. The police report notes that there was sleet/hail at the time of the incident and that both vehicles were towed from the scene; no injuries were reported.
