CADILLAC CT5 Incident

On January [XXX], 2026, a 2025 Cadillac CT5 was travelling East on [XXX] in Clinton Township, Michigan, with Super Cruise engaged and active. Crash data indicates there was a frontal impact that deployed the front seat belt pretensioners and airbags. The driver was wearing their seat belt at the time of crash. A review of the OnStar audio recordings indicated the driver reported other vehicles were stopped in the middle of the road and they ran into them. Telematics data indicates that Super Cruise entered a "Degraded Escalation" state 1 second prior to the crash. Update: On January 20, 2026 GM received the police report which indicates that the CT5 driver looked up and observed the Ford Escape stopped in front of them and had no time to brake or react. Airbags deployed in both vehicles. The Ford Escape driver was transported to a hospital. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
