Buick Enclave Incident

On September [XXX], 2024, a 2025 Buick Enclave was traveling north on [XXX] in Vevay, Michigan with Super Cruise engaged and active. According to OnStar audio recording, the driver indicated he hit a deer that ran in front of him. Crash data indicates a frontal impact that deployed the front seat belt pretensioners and both frontal airbags. Driver and front passenger were both buckled at the time of crash. According to telematics data, at approximately .5 seconds prior to the crash Super Cruise entered an Override state due to steering wheel torque input and hands on wheel. At approximately .4 seconds prior to the crash, Super Cruise entered a Disable/Not Ready state due to a brake press. A subject vehicle speed of approximately 78 mph was recorded at time of impact.
